Having seen some great Mach Loop photos on this thread I thought I'd share this pilot's eye video that I found.

And I learned a new flying phrase - overbanking.

Purchased a slide scanner from Amazon and spent a fair but of time at the weekend going through my Dad's collection from his RAF days. Plenty more to go but a few below to get started. Not great quality but adds to the charm of some of them I think.

Interesting, especially the Breguet Alizés with the Gannets.
Were the Alizés visiting Yeovilton?

It does look like you have scanned the slides in back to front though.

Yup. I forgot to press the mirror button on some of them :-(

Assume it was Yeovilton as that is where he spent a lot of time when seconded to the Navy. He was responsible for the training of take off/landed on Ark Royal.

Nice photos, thanks for sharing them with us.

Can anyone identify the aeroplanes in the photo above?

360 Sqn RAF Wyton I should think (although it could be Watton or Cottesmore).

Edit: With the high ground in the background I'm guessing it's overseas.

Thanks. Interesting nosejob on that variant.

It was used for ECM (Electronic Counter Measures) training.

That is to say the Canberra T17 was a jammer.

360 Sqn was a joint RAF / RN Sqn. The Sqn badge was a moth of the species Melese laodamia - this particular moth has the capability of jamming predatory bats' sonar transmissions.

Very interesting selection. Getting a picture of the SR-71 would have been a bit of a coup for him back then.

Errr - The only SR-71 is the one I posted, unless you're mistaking the one of a pair of F-104s taking off side by side...

Sorry, I didn't spot it wasn't in the batch of 60s RAF stuff.

Sorry for an off topic diversion, but I'm interested to know which scanner you are using OP. I bought one a few years ago and sent back as the results were so awful. Got a lot of slides to convert.
