I think I'm in the GG and Eric camp over this, dad always insisted that the aircraft he'd been in association with were aeroplanes

He KNEW this to be true because his Warrant Officer told him so and if his WO said something even God would have accepted it as Gospel

If jet-propelled aeromachines are called 'jets', why aren't propeller-driven flyingcrates called 'propellers'?

Cool picture smile My grandad was a cabinet maker & coach builder before the war who ended up making wing parts for the Mossie, no photos of him at work though frown

I was in that England last week, and I wasn't quick enough on the camera
driving along from Barnard Castle towards Winston, look right and see a Hercules flying level with me, over the Tees

it was going slightly quicker than me so it got away
