I don't KNOW but can't think of anything else at TW that would have 6' diameter props.
Shame.

Shemara's in the big shed having a BIG rebuild.

An interesting thread.
I was a decky in Shemara 1962/3, one voyage round the med under charter then chrismas in English Harbour Antigua.
She did end up in Lowestoft after mr Hyams bought her and I later found out that she hasn't moved since. I did go to see her in 2007 and she looked a bit sad, all boats etc removed. The pictures show her in much better shape than in 2007.
The steering wheel at the stern is really for emergencies.
Does she really now belong to the Carphone boss? it wold be nice to see her back in commission.

A chum has just been refitting his Nic 55 at the yard where she is, but was unable to proffer any info on the rebuild.

Looking forward to seeing the finished article, love that steering wheel on the aft deck.

The old metal yachts look so much more regal than the new fibreglass ones

Wow - that is stunning. Something about these old motor yachts the modern ones don't seem to capture.
Timeless elegance I guess.
If there are are film makers on here - how did they capture those superb aerial shots at the end - using a drone ?

Can't wait to see the finished boat.

Restoring classics is a true labour of love, vast amounts of cash and more than a few sleepless nights.

And yes, she does have a certain something the modern yachts don't have. Class.

Yes, quite a few multicopter sequences in that film.

Someone I know has been working on cabin side of the retrofit and is going to the launch. Says it is beautiful inside.

Its nearly 4 years since I started this thread, I'm delighted.

Did they keep the ships wheel on the aft deck? Would be a shame if not.

That looks absolutely amazing. Apparently its off to Southampton to be fitted out now.

My Dad was the captain from 1982 to 2011 when it was sold to Mt Dunstone. He was 87 when he finished work on it.

he and the Chief engineer used to still drive down to Port Solent and sit there eating there lunch just looking at her through binoculars.

Sadly my dad passed away last year so he never saw it emerge from the shed.

The Davids have gone for the launches so i wonder if they are still in the sheds at lowestoft (including the Riva!) and never got sold with the yacht??

Extra windows put in the sides of the rear lounge as well by the looks of it.

Really hope the rear wheel and rear gangway stay, they were amazing..

Hope the bridge is still all brass as well, always remember being told off for touching it...

Bet the owners matching onyx sinks have gone :-)

Saw her last week just after she came out of the shed, looked classically elegant and should make the owner proud.

I didn't get the chance to go on board but the finish looking from the jetty was impressive, the perfect vessel to turn up in at Monaco and make other billionaires very envious.
