How very dare you! I'll have you know I slaved for at least 20 minutes to craft that seamless bit of photo editting, and what's more I used GIMP!Nice post.
Reminded me of this event back in the 1990s that might egg you on a bit.

I used to have the odd pint in this place.....which was used for 'check in' as it was just near the end of the runway...

But would it not be amazing if a person with (substantial) means could
get a Concorde type approved and flying again. I don't doubt it would be
a very expensive venture but if it can be done with XH558 (vulcan)
im sure the public support is there Concorde is/was a national treasure
and im sure a few political bods would love to ride on that wave of
publicity.
I have read in various places that its just not possible but these days
is it not a case of not what's possible but how much will it cost me.

Nope. Airbus (who inherited the design authority) refuse to allow it, as I understand it.But would it not be amazing if a person with (substantial) means could

Great thread.
I think the problem would be scale. Air lines rely on huge scale to operate efficiently and make sure their planes are nearly always full. That's why they have these alliances etc. Attempting the same with a single plane going London to Australia would just be too hit and miss.

I've had this thread in the back of my mind for the past two weeks.
I'm involved operationally with getting c.750 people away on Sunday with three aircraft.
Whilst they are throwing above and beyond what they need to at it, it's become quite clear already that when you're looking at this volume the cost is outstripping the price of scheduled seats. The real benefit of the cost is getting x amount of people from A to B at the same time.

So where are you now, did you move to AUS as mentioned when you started this thread, and if so, will you flying AUS - LON and then back? For the benefit of PAUL500.
