Since we're doing photos...

My neighbour (along with his helicopter mates) lands 7/8 every year in his paddock which borders our place:

Last year, there must have been around £10 million worth of helicopters in less than an acre! When you see it up close, the sight of them all coming into land really makes you appreciate the pilot's skills.
Is that a privately owned Gazelle?
I know a chap who imported one, flew it for a bit then sold it on. Can't be too many in the country - I wonder if it is the same one?

I know of two separate instances where primary school fields were used to land helicopters, one military an one private

G-INFO lists 46 Gazelles registered in the UK, a mixture of ex-military and civilian versions.

I'm afraid that what I know about helicopters can be summarised on the back of a postage stamp - didn't realise what it was until you mentioned it. Though with hindsight, the leaping gazelle logo on the tail rotor should have been a give away. Seem to have some very nice stuff between them - brand new Bell 407 and a Eurocopter AS350 B3 are the other two I can figure out.

I just watched A Chopper is Born all the way through on Quest, I now want a chopper more than a flash car.

Edited to add I was just looking at Rotorways which the series built, and this one has a funny pod underneath what on earth is it?

Where I live there is a bylaw with prevents 'deliberate' landings of all aircraft (including models).... I guess accidental landings can't be helped.

they used to land them on the school fields all the time.

they being MOD for joyrides to the CCF, or posh parents showing off flying in for a rugby match.
