All rise for the Harrier design team - the basic engneering of that marvellous plane was done in the 1960s.
Harriers of one type or another flew in active RAF service for 40 years ....

PS, there is Lightning on static display at the airport on road to Chatham, no need to buy it, a set of bolt croppers for the fence and a tow rope and 4 x 4 will do.
It needs a good home now, a trip through the local car wash or boy scouts doing a hand wash money raiser would make it look smart. Anything better than some tosser putting it on the scrappers low loader.
It needs a good home? Its got a good fking home! It wasnt just dumped there you know. I mean who knows, there may even be a good reason it is sat there, outside Rochester Airport Works, currently BAES, ex GEC Marconi, ex Short Brothers...

Its not as if the UK equivalent of the Wright Brothers workshop down the road from Kitty Hawk would be a fitting place is it? Christ, I know the site is a dump but can we have some knowledge of the heritage of the industry and the place?

An eBay spokesman said: "We have strict policies in regards to the sale of military weaponry,
meaning the jet should not have been listed for sale.
