What motors and drives are you running? Looks a nice set-up.
The raceboat has now been sold and my mate Martyn has put a pair of old big blocks in the Chris Craft day boat.

Won this on Bullseye...............
Only kidding, I didn't want/need/thought that I'd have a speedboat but a boat that has been in the water 6 times in its life at a price I couldn't refuse. Looking forward to next summer
Also pretty tame and not fast at all, but had some great weekends on it. the old mans little cruiser.

This is 'Boudicca' an Ilmer 32. Dutch built of Corten steel and weighs about 7 tons! Purchased by us last summer after 4 years on hardstanding, and is an ongoing project for us.
As purchased.....needs a bit of TLC!
Ready for transport and launch after a summer of sand blasting, sanding and painting.
In the water, Spring 2013

Ah the Mac 26X, did you buy her new??
Hi J3JCVNo, bought her from a yard near Southend a couple of years ago ready for my retirement
She needed a few jobs done, but we finally got her into the water this year.
As you probably know it's neither a true yacht, nor a true powerboat, so not everyone's cup of tea, but as she only draws 12 inches and is a trailer sailer, it is ideal for exploring our local creeks, rivers, lochs, lakes and canals as well as the open water.
Plus the fact that with a 50hp engine, she goes quite well too

I am well aware of what you can do with these as I used to sell them for a few years, it was the 26m when I started they had just stopped making the X. I also thought the first generation 26M went one step back with the interior compared to the X. No, bought her from a yard near Southend a couple of years ago ready for my retirement

Yes they are a compromise but actually sail like a big dinghy, you will very quickly discover the optimum conditions, around Force 3 and fully ballasted you can relly get a move on. When sailing up wind dont point too high at first and let the boat speed pick up, you will then find you can keep pushing up and up. I owned a Hurley 22 at the time and that would certainly be better in a blow, but in light airs you will sail past many boats.
Power wise, they are what they are, learn the limits. Saying that I was the first (so furthest, approx 15-20 miles out) sailing boat out to meet Ellen Macarther when she arrived back in falmouth in May 06, (you can see me coming back in at about 1:20 onwards across the lower part of the screen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWfObMFT3aM )
this photo was taken much further in but you can see it was lumpy.
