Taken today at my employers test facility, our new 50' offering. It's a good feeling to see your own design in the flesh.

Got a bit pissed with one of your collegues at the Singapore GP last year, he had done a compairable blag to me and we found ourselves in the same hospitality box, will see if i still have his namecard!Regards,
Olly
Its good to see someone who has made a career of boat design, i did Yacht and Powercraft Design at Soton but never got into the industry!
Ohh and not a picture of "our" boat, but currently racing a Magic 25

Lol... i did naval architecture at soton (which i think came before the yacht and powercraft design course) and then realised i was quite thick, so jumped ship (do you like what i did there?!) and ended up with a degree in marine deckchair management. of course, as a career yacht broker, i use sooooooooooooooo much that i learnt on that course! Used to race a P16 with a 115 Suzuki and then went for a P18 with Merc 200. 40+ year old design by Steve Baker that still out performs most other boats out there. Now get that engine on Ebay and find yourself an XR2 to stick on it and scare yourself silly as they're designed for.

Average 40 knots Putney to Ramsgate with an old 80 on the back!
When I lived in Gibraltar the smugglers there had about 15 Phantom 20/21 with Yamaha 200 engines on, the boats were stripped right out and then they could just load right up with huge cartons of cigarettes and take from Gib to La Linea or move Hash from Ceuta/Melilla to Gib+, interesting time of my life living there on my Rival 36http://www.powerboatarchive.co.uk/Magazines/1970s/...
