The summer can't come soon enough for me after replacing my boat over the winter. Itching to use her so if you have any summer shots to get us in the spirit; lets see them biggrin

Having a busy winter at the moment, two back to back Atlantic crossings (Gran Canaria to St Lucia coming 3rd in racing division then a couple of weeks of BBQ's on the beach followed by St Lucia to Gran Canaria going the 'wrong way') relaxing in the Canaries before more fun sailing in a months time. You can see the route and blogs on the website www.bigspiritadventures.com

One of my favourite all round power boats from the "Huntress" upwards a real classic, and a good investment.

I often used to berth with a couple of Huntsman boats when away for the weekend in the Solent, they ran out of Chichester as did I at the time way back in 84 on to 89 when I sailed away and left the U.K.

Mine was raced by the factory in '67, 3 was Charles Currey the works manager's lucky number. I beleive that more than one boat was raced with 333 on the bow.

I'm undertaking my second refit at the moment, I did it 8 years ago too.

My two old tubs, I'm sure I posted these on a similar thread last year. Doesn't time fly!

Did something similar once in our old Rinker 232 captiva cuddy. Went out first in this other guys boat (same model) who obviously thought it was self amusement to try and scare us half to death by circling for 5 minutes and finding every wake left from a boat to jump over !
He then wanted to see what the difference was between ours and his, which had a larger engine than his.
I obviously could not pass up the opportunity to get my own back when I saw a 80ft Sunseeker about 300 yards away! He did not speak for the rest of the journey back into the marina :-)

One of my own makes, it's a demo boat, I have a black one too, that looks very cool. Not desperately fast (about 35 knots max), but goes from idle to top speed in about 2 seconds!

Much, much fun. smile

yeah. numbers never came in though....

Dad keeps 'doing the sums' - but as you all know, they never stack up spin

As before, in your boots (or postcode) I would take anything that floats..... for occasional usage, which is all I get, renting is the only way.

Until we have a G&T and we start bullstting about getting something.
So, looking at two charters this year. one with ourselves and another couple (the ones who had a bereavement if you remember I had a 473 tee'd up for Gocek), and another with the boys later in the summer.

Back to you lot showing off your shiny money pits !
Well, you never buy a boat because the sums add up.... smile

When you own, especially local (ish, ours is two hours away, although it's near close family), you end up doing a lot more last minute weekends, etc. I guess it works out.

I've said I'll arrange another charter week for the lads later this year, probably channel isles way again, my boat just isn't big enough for eight big ugly blokes!

We are sailing to Bestival in September though, which should be a bit of fun, might take a jet boat as well (I reckon around 6-8 minutes to cross the Solent, weather permitting).

I'm just glad work isn't so hectic now, and I can enjoy this sort of thing again. There's no point working hard without getting decent rewards!
