Bit of a shame the BBC didn't stick with Jake Humphrey long enough to allow him to tell us live from the Lancaster what being in it was like. Sounded noisy though!

I thought he was going to be sick!

Pretty poor commentary from Huw Wotsit regarding the warbirds - he might have mentioned something about the 'timeless drone of six Merlins' but then I realised he works for the BBC so would have no idea what the airplanes are, still less the engines.

TBH it was a pretty piffs poor commentary from him most of the day

yes

Tom

How much do I envy you?

what a fabulous scene from a garden's piffsup

fabuloso as Kenneth Williams might have said

It is a shame Humphrey got the best seat in the whole show, then had the footage wasted by the producer, crap aero commentary is far better than the Welsh Droner droning drivel.

Still, I enjoyed the PH finish from the palace

Think of it

The Bride, The Groom, an Aston with the top down, top cover from the S&R pros and an empty Mall...

I'd have floored it and burnt some wonderful rubber, let's see the London Rozzers doing a "Aussie Copper" on Wills.

I've no interest in the royal wedding, but would like to see the RAF flypast at some point. Does anyone know where they'll be flying from and at what time? I'm sure there are PHers in the know on here!
Hey Toby hope all is well with you mate...anyway 4 Torns and Harriers flew over our business in formation today twice. 10 am and 2.30 pm. Must have been the Royal fly past guys.....

Take care mate.

Not very Harriers nono

might have been a pair of Tonkas and maybe just a pair of Typhoons

All the Harriers are parked in hangars waiting for CMD to U turn

or more likely not frown

Superb - thanks for staying sober enough to point accurately! smile

By some strange coincidence there was a Spitfire flying around Rendlesham/Bentwaters at 2:00pm, too.
That Might have been the spit from the BOBMF before they turned up with us.

The Trio may have split up.

Unusually they transited the village from the East down the Bourne road (The route the Red Arrows normally Take and the occassional Tonka from Marham that beats the Village up from time to Time. Most times they enter the Village From the Cottesmore (A1) end

I know the lanc was Late because it did a transit over the Deeping Area (mate got it on film in Baston) prior to getting to us and probably why he was pretty late compared to the Fighters.
I'm pretty sure the Grace 2 seater is based at Bentwaters and can be regularly seen in the air aroundabouts.

I blame the BOBMF - Lancasters, Griffons - must have been another BoB I don't know about wink

That was my first thought, but I didn't see the 'double bubble' of the Carolyne Grace Spitfire.

Some fantastic pics on here! I saw nothing of the flypast in any of the royal wedding news coverage, which I thought was a bit odd.
