Picnic.
This time we’re having a slight change of focus. Its summer (apparently) and this time we’ll be voting on the best picnic dish(es). No specific ingredients.

Bit unfair for us in the southern hemisphere. Its 8C here in the mornings as we approach the shortest day. Oh and its raining most days. This may be an interesting picnic ! Ah, yes, just noticed it's this coming weekend. Doubt I can do anything this week, tad busy sorting out stuff plus big food market on Sunday to go to Nobody posted there entries yet?

I was going to go with a wild flower and herb salad, scotch eggs, piccalilli, bread and some home made butter. Realistically I won't have time to even boil the eggs :-(
Good luck everyone!

Bob - got kids? Do a car picnic or build a fort behind the couch and have it in there or something...Well, it looks like the weather has made this a less than ideal theme this time.
Not to let the side down I did a few dishes, but I didn't even get to lay a blanket on the sodden lawn.
Still:
Some little pain bagnats made with Mrs Zep's delicious stilton and walnut baps. Mmmm. Baps.
Some sausage rolls made with a duxelles of mushrooms.
And some smoked mackerel toasts.
I'd have done more but was trying all day to shake off the hangover to be honest.

I'm not going to poll this competition.
However it would be good to get another ingredient agreed for the next round.
I propose a bit of democratic choice because there may be some people who have had a great idea for ingredients but they haven't had a chance to nominate them.
Hence I'm about to start a new thread!...
