The supposedly "leaked KFC" recipe
Discussion
Thread resurrection.
Just watched the southern fried chicken recipe on Jamie & Jimmy's Food Feast on catch up. Starts off in the frier to get the crispy coating and then finishes off in the oven to cook through.
Did anybody who did the version here it bother to brine the chicken first and/or the soaking in buttermilk first?
Off out now to get some chicken and all the gear.

Yes. I brine the chicken first and then dip in buttermilk to stick the coating on.Just watched the southern fried chicken recipe on Jamie & Jimmy's Food Feast on catch up. Starts off in the frier to get the crispy coating and then finishes off in the oven to cook through.

No need to faff about in the oven. Just all deep fat fryer action.
Perfectly juicy chicken.

By any chance does the takeaway recipe book have the recipe for Dominos garlic and herb dip? I've tried every supermarket offering and none of them come close.
I have the book, it has no restaurant specific recipes.I was hoping for listings of restaurants with recipes of how to make your favourite item from each one, but its a lot more generic than that.

ignore the rubbish stories about it being bad for you, absolutely no scientific evidence to support this.
Some people react badly to MSG and foods with other naturally occurring glutamates though.http://www.pri.org/stories/2014-10-03/science-sugg...
