The supposedly "leaked KFC" recipe

They look lovely - I feel a takeaway lunch coming on - but I won't as I need to lose many stone!
But with a slight thread hijack regarding the deepfat frying... I've never deep fried anything, generally grilling or dry-frying.
So just how bad for you is deep frying? Can I do it in a deep pan & what's the best oil to use? Is it worth gettign a little fryer & if so, what else should I be thinkign of doing in it?
Thanks

Frying is the least healthy thing you can do to your food. which is why it tastes so much better of course! But with a slight thread hijack regarding the deepfat frying... I've never deep fried anything, generally grilling or dry-frying.

However if you must experience the delight of this dish, that 15 quid mini-fryer in sainsburys is nice and compact, some sunflower oil and job's a good-un

Ordered, cheers x type Pretty simple, using the very basic Bisto Chicken Gravy granules, lots of pepper and rock salt. I use half a knorr chicken stock and a few other bits to taste. My version is actually better than KFC, which I would of never believed.

Gave this a go tonight. Unfortunately, with the forum down tonight, I only managed to make an approximation with rough quantities, but it was very good nonetheless.
Ta for the recipe, I'll give it a proper go soon (have saved the recipe now!!)
WOW they look yummyTa for the recipe, I'll give it a proper go soon (have saved the recipe now!!)
Like I said, though, I'm all set for the next batch. At least I know I've nailed the method, at least!

Looked perfect, with the right texture, but my approximated recipe whilst the forum was down meant I was too restrained with the salt, msg and other herbs. Meant it was a bit underwhelming on flavour.

The KFC recipe has 11 herbs and spices but the op on the first page does not, what's missing?
For me it's celery salt but to be honest I've tried all kinds of different versions and they all tend to come out tasty and quite similar at the end, flour, salt and pepper would still give you a nice result IMO.fizz47 said:
Right - so i tried this last night and while it turned out very tasty indeed how does one get the texture of the crispy batter like they do in KFC.
The KFC chicken strips have small crispy bits but I cant seem to replicate this...
The recipe was for the original chicken coating now the crispy strips / hot wings recipe. I predict the addition is probably breadcrumbs and chilliThe KFC chicken strips have small crispy bits but I cant seem to replicate this...

They use pressure fryers which will account for some of the difference in finish. The KFC chicken strips have small crispy bits but I cant seem to replicate this...
