Guess he must be on his Holidays?

Do we hang 5 for his return or jump in to the next round..... I'm getting eager to crack on!

I've had a think (and a browse) and I think I'm going to go with something suggested by Mobile Chicane in the poll for the last competition...

PIE! biggrin

Sweet or savoury, pie or pasty, all good.

Any opinions/other ideas before I post up the compo thread?

Hi folks.

Apologies for not being around for a couple of weeks.

A mixture of bad news, a half-arsed attempt at a family holiday and then worse news ending in a funeral. Rushed to and fro and haven't had much time.

Back to something like normality now though. smile

Very happy for someone to nominate the next ingredients. yum

I feel the good captain should supply the recipe for that awesome creation
Can't access the site which gave me the recipe at work but google 'takeaway secret doner kebab' and its around and about on the internet.

The only thing I did differently was use some celery salt I had lying around and instead of garlic/onion powder I used a small onion and 4 garlic cloves whizzed up into a paste. I then whizzed the whole thing in the food processor to make it smooth. This seems to be key. Wrapped it all up in foil and baked in the oven until starting to brown. Then just finished on a griddle iron outside atop of a camping stove.

As the recipe suggests the mince needs to be fatty and seemingly the cheaper the better. (I used cheapo full fat Tesco lamb/mutton council mince.)
