Get your flat caps on, put the whippet away and get your pigeons in the coop. We're going all Northern!

The competition is to make a PIE!!

Now, what is a pie? Well, let's keep it as a fairly loose definition here. There will no doubt be many opinions on what is and what isn't a pie. But for this, pretty much everything goes.

So it can be sweet or savoury... small or large... pastry topped, mash topped, open topped... just as long as it can be called a pie (or a tart, or a quiche, which are basically open pies). The choice is yours.

(Only one thing... Pizza is NOT a pie, even if Americans would like us all to think it is!)

Entries should be posted here by midnight on Monday 8th August (that gives you two weekends to make your entry). Up to a maximum of four photos can be submitted, two of which will be selected for the final poll thread. Voting will commence on Tuesday 9th, and run until midnight on Sunday 14th August.

Good luck! biggrin

Well that's me out. I've exhausted my repertoire: cheese on toast, cheese & pickle sandwiches.

Mind you if anyone can get the bottom of a Fray Bentos pie crispy it would be worth an entry!

Hmmm, don't see why not, if it's pie-like, e.g. like a steak & kidney pudding. If it's like an xmas pud though, then no!

Used the potato ricer to mash it - it's real mash potato with cheese in it.
