WTF!
Fire roasted Tarantula. They actually taste very nice. Sometimes the abdomen contains gu that squirts as you bite into it. The gu itself tastes ok, but if the spirt catches you out......
Have 4 books in front of me, all of which have good dishes. Just need to decide. May re-do a couple of recent meals :
Pork with Aubergine
Amok trey
Finally managed to find some time to actually join in the fun!
First attempt at documenting it PH cooking competition style (so forgive me if i'm off mark)
But i present to you
Ohn-No Khaukswe (Burmese Chicken Coconut Soup) (adapted from a Madhur Jafferey recipe)
Ingredients
Ingedients prepared (rough, roasted chilli powder made from some dried birds eye chillis we picked up in Portugal last year & some crispy fried shallots to garnish and provide some texture)
On the plate (well in the bowl!)
Close up
C&C welcome, but i tried my best

Thanks
Tasted gorgeous, a good balance between the quite sour heat and the sweet coconut milk, made something that sounds quite boring "chicken soup" into something delicious
However I won't be consuming it on a school night again...as whilst I love satanically hot food, it doesn't love me
Feel the burn!
