That's a very generous offer NRS.
However, I would also like to offer my services but, being more of a Michael Jackson disciple, clearly hold seniority over NRS.
You are both too kind. I'm sure I could find the time so send a sample or two. However, I would also like to offer my services but, being more of a Michael Jackson disciple, clearly hold seniority over NRS.
Maybe................

My angels share estimate was possibly pessimistic, Craig got 90 bottles from his 53 litre Octave. PPX1 was 54 litres so should be similar.
IF it's 60% ABV that's £1,231 and 90 50cl bottles.

Splendid. Yeah I'm hoping to leave Insch at around 6.30am, should be there around 12-ish I think. If anyone fancies grabbing lunch let me know.
I'll be in a grey disco, reg plate ends with IL.
If you see a lovely, smokey old Merc with about 15 dogs in it that'll be Peter & Janine.
Lunch also sounds good! Not sure which car I will be bringing, will let you know after the weekend but hopefully the Jaaaag if I can sort a vibration.I'll be in a grey disco, reg plate ends with IL.

Great news Lefty! Thanks for the updates. I'll do my best to get there as early as I can but don't expect Mrs PNJ and me for lunch. If time is pressing, we'll make our way straight to WB for 2pm. I'm also happy with "50cl nocturnes, gold tops, basic labels" - just need to sort out what's going on the labels. It might be nice to have something along the lines of 'A peated spirit matured in a Sherry cask' just so we can remember what it came from??? Are we also going to bottle at cask strength or try to make a number of bottles easily divisible by 10 (as long as we don't go too low on the ABV)? Oh yes, 2 for dinner please!

How do we go about getting WB to ship them to us?
Or does anyone who is going live anywhere close to Cambridge?
Ha ha ha, I'm going to Cambs this weekend - damn about 5 days too early! Just how soon do you want them and where abouts in Cambridge are you? My folks live in St.Neots area but, after this weekend, I don't know when they are either visiting me (Gloucestershire) or we are visiting them again. Might be an option though?Or does anyone who is going live anywhere close to Cambridge?
Very happy with all the above and very much looking forward to next week !
Will try for lunch on the Thursday, i'll keep you posted on-route.
Dinner in the Bruce sounds great.
Wonderful videos from Craig.

I wouldn't describe it as smokey - its mainly the petrol fumes when the tank is full. Never MOT on a full tank !!! So naked flames nearby are best avoided.
Depending on weather it may be MrsMercs black B class - old style RWD and white stuff ain't happening - especially with picking up the 8 week old puppy as well.
Just seen next Friday is the first International Scotch Day - what a fine day it should be.

You lucky beggars!
Is anyone interested in a swap shop type arrangement so we can possibly share around some different drams?

Happy to purchase a bottle - or try and find a way to ship stuff out to you!

NRS - what have you bought into?

Sorry, it wasn't any private casks I am a part-owner in. Just if people wanted to swap some "normal" stuff for either some samples/ a bottle from your cask (or others). Due to the system having issues I got 7 bottles of the Highland Park 2002 13 YO Single Cask #6352, so that would be an obvious swap one for me!Happy to purchase a bottle - or try and find a way to ship stuff out to you!
Another option I can sell samples to anyone interested at the price I bought it for (which was around £120, rather than the £300 the equivalent bottles are going for in auction, plus no shop mark up for selling a sample). There's a few over here who do that, as it's a good way of checking a bottle before buying, or just tasting something that you'd not be able to buy elsewhere. It might be better for me on my next trip as I'll be at the Spirit of Speyside festival for 5 days, so going to have way too much whisky to try and smuggle home already I imagine!
(As an aside if anyone else is going there it would be cool to say hello and meet you!)
