I am happy with the move and the cost of doing it, just let me know where to pay and I'll do it.
As far a bottle shape goes, I prefer the standard shape as it fits into my whisky racks easier. I can't seem to tell the difference between the bottle of the far left and the bottle on the far right though.
I am happy to have the whisky watered down slightly for bottling but would not really want it to go below 48% to be honest.
Racks? Do you store them horizontally?

The bottle on the right seems to have a slightly different shaped shoulder.

I like the dumpy one at £2.25 or the square one at £3.00 best i think.

Whiskybroker will ship them.

Glenglassaugh wouldnt so i would have had to have done that myself.

But, a roadtrip would be much more in keeping with the spirit (see what i did there?) of this enterprise!!! And Newton Stewart is much closer to you Southerners than Portsoy!
Cool - I vote for a haig dimple style of bottle (that was an option right?)

Well he should do a better job of storing them (hiding them) than CH hehe

Sorry!

Happy with the move to somewhere more friendly, just let me know when we know the costs and can transfer money.

I'd personally prefer cask strength, but happy to thin it a little if it makes a sensible number of bottles.

Don't worry about shipping cost, we can sort it out at bottling. It's pence per bottle.

Assuming nobody complains I'll give the green light tomorrow and we can arrange a visit. How about Easter?

All good with me and I am not too fussed which bottle we go for either. Maybe different bottles for different casks if there are enough reasonably priced options?

Easter would be great for me except I will be in Baden Baden doing my best impression of a drunken fool! (A bit like October hehe)

How did I miss this?! This has got me/my pa written all over it.

Is there a cycle for these? When will the next one be open for one to join?

No more from Glengalassaugh anyway I'm afraid.

Right, since there have been no complaints I've asked Whiskybroker to move the casks. Should be moved late next week or possibly into the week after.

Cheers

All fine by me.

As for bottle type either of the center 2 - the square one probably edges it for me.

ABV I'd not like to go below 46% if possible, but I like the idea of even number of bottles.

I can't make Easter - but is there anyway of getting hold of a sample?

All the best

From Whiskybroker:

You are welcome to come and see us anytime and sample your casks. HMRC are more lenient about customers coming to the premises to have a dram of their cask - funnily enough, you are let off with paying the duty on that. I am not sure they could stop this from ever happening anyway and doubt they'd appreciate the paperwork!

So WB, like GLG, don't send out samples but there's no limit on what can be drawn duty-free in person...

Hope they don't drop them!

Another question - do "we" own the physical cask ? What happens to it after its emptied apart from being left open as an air freshener is leftys garage? Next thing-bagsy a cask!

I think a "raffle draw" for those who are interested would be a good idea.

IMO, given he organized the while thing - if Lefty wants one, he should get one.
