On a facebook page I am following another Octave has been bottled.
Distilled in 2009 the Octave gave 65 bottles, looks from the label though it was bottled at 46%.
The chap has called it 'Dram of the Lords' - nice label (I think - I'm not sure), what I do like is he has numbered each bottle so on the picture is 55/65 nice touch.
If I knew my way around either facebook or a computer I'd try and post a picture but unfortunately my kids are at school and can't help !
Sadly it looks like some of his bottles got lost in transit - 65 shipped but only 60 arrived in Poland.

If you're able to send me a pic, I'll sort it
Shame it's lost in transit - hopefully they'll turn up following the Christmas rush.

It's easier to view on an iPhone as you can enlarge it, but I really like some elements of it.
Date distilled, date bottled, numbered bottles, cask etc.
Not sure of the picture but on the whole a good effort.
If you press and hold 'Ctrl' and then tap the + button it will zoom in on your PC.Date distilled, date bottled, numbered bottles, cask etc.
Not sure of the picture but on the whole a good effort.
Then do the same with the - button to zoom back out.

Nice to be makng progress on Cask 1!
For those of you not involved, we are making plans to visit the distillery in March, possibly as many as 5 of us. The aim is to retaste the cask (although 9/10 owners have voted to bottle ASAP!) and discuss bottling, labels and costs/timeline.
We'll keep you posted...

Quite a long time still I think, none of the others felt remotely close to being ready (to my amateurish palate) when we tried them back in August.
That suits me fine as I have a couple of other casks (Aberlour & Tomatin, both ex bourbon)ready to be bottled this year. It helps to spread these things out ClubSmed said:

Sounds interesting! Any more details? If you fancy parting company with a bottle or two (especially the Aberlour!) let me know

I am excited to try a bourbon Abalour as have only tried sherried or mixed bourbon/ sherry in the past. Tomatin I think can be outstanding and is very underated at the moment (which means you can pick it up at decent prices).

Ahh sorry chaps. Well, I met TFatC and Mr and Mrs ClassicMercs at Portsoy but the distillery wouldn't let us see the Ictaves, let alone sample them! Very disappointing and a sad sign of the new corporate times.
The whole feel of the place has changed somewhat.
They promised they would draw a sample the week after our visit but still haven't done so. Nick (TFatC) is reasonably local so when they do eventually get us another sample Nick and I will try it (with anyone else who cares to come up of course!) and update everyone else.
Frustrating doesn't begin to describe our experience I think.
