Looking at the link above shows some interesting offers, anyone interested in or have knowledge of the £1300 2014 Islay ? Would it make a good group buy ?

Correct, they're all at Whiskybroker in Creetown now.

If anyone is looking for some older Glenglassaughs to see where our Casks are headed, I've put my collection into SWA, auction ends tonight. Hopefully paying for my house extension / whisky snug!!!

So it was your collection! I mentioned it on the other thread that someone was selling their collection! Put a bid in for some of them...

Perfect timing. GLG were bein difficult, but an American conglomerate could be really difficult to deal with. Good, well timed move by Lefty on our behalf.

To be fair to BF, they do some proper bourbons. Could be interesting if BenRiach are allowed to operate as before.

Part shares in a new distillery I hear you say.

They mention our favourite word though - private casks.

This is really interesting - the projects looks great but more so because of one of the Director's - Stuart Nickerson.
For those that don't know he was heavily involved in Glenglassaugh in the early days. Lefty will know more I'm sure ?
I'm in !

Is this a good thing given what's happened at Glenglassaugh?

Genuine question as as someone who signed up for a cask with them, I'm not that impressed with them. They have not, in my mind, honoured the spirit (no pun intended) of the deal which was take risk, provide cash up front to help a new distillery and get some reasonably priced whisky as a result. Not provide cash and take risk and then have the distillery try to take you for a ride.

I'm up for a visit, but try and avoid LMC weekend and the 4-8 Aug as that is the Ignition festival

Sounds like a plan - finally get to see the babies - and maybe make some decisions.

Having used up all our neighbourly dog sitter tokens recently I think we would have to do a single day flyer in the estate with the dogs - a wee 430 mile round trip - with Mrs Mercs having to do a bit for a change. Just another one of many 400 mile whisky outings. Unless we can find a reasonable dog friendly place out that way.

So Saturdays around midday preferred. They are available weekends I guess ?

(Just been spying the Laddy they currently have - umm - visit soon !)
