I wish I had taken more time on the presentation instead of being drunk and starving frown

Hahaha ;O) thats the trouble with an internet based competition you judge with your eyes mostly.

Surf and turf looks amazing! Maybe link to the other poll in the OP in each case though to stop lazy "mmn that looks nice" voting.

24 hours marinating followed by 8 hours smoking ruined by beer and hunger. I'll know for next time wink

Thanks to those of you who voted for the salad. The other entries were of a very good standard too, especially Elias' pit!

MC has asked that I post a recipe so here goes:

Vietnamese 'surf & turf'.

Sirloin marinated in nam-pla, lime juice, chilli, garlic, palm sugar and mirin. All to taste but probably one to two limes and two to three tbs of nam-pla.

Squid soaked in a marinade of nam-pla, chilli, mirin, soy, ginger and palm sugar. Again to taste.

Salad of bean sprouts, mooli, coriander, chilli, mint, cucumber, spring onion, tomato, blood orange, plum and crushed toasted peanuts.

Dressing of nam-pla, chilli, garlic, mint, coriander, lime, pepper and, you guessed it, palm sugar.

I know that's vague but it really is a balancing act with these flavourings, as you'll know.

Watch out for Cooking comp #15 very soon!!
