Uniko, Vilamoura. Tapas menu:

I had intended to have a cheap/quick lunch as they do a brilliant lunch menu with some great value meals for under 10 euros. I didn't realise it was Saturday though so was forced onto the tapas menu instead laugh

I decided to have 1 of everything.

45 euros plus tip. Not bad value at all, that included 3 drinks.
Probably one of the best restaurants in Vilamoura we went to.

If you're eating down the marina, Akvavit is very good also. I think I probably prefer akvavit to uniko.... but the lunch menu in uniko on weekdays really is tremendous. High quality food for next to nothing.... at lunch time akvavit seem to go really downmarket and just do toasties and hamburgers and so on. I had a nice enough burger there recently... but if I'm going to either of those I prefer 'real' food that I couldn't easily do at home on my BBQ.

I had a meeting in town yesterday and walked past Almost Famous on the way.
Duly distracted throughout the meeting I had to have a late lunch there on the way back.

Very nice burger and fries - Ok to good wings.

you are right about the wings (something like Franks) but the chips are 50% sweet potato and actually pretty good.

Visited Cliveden House yesterday, and had lunch in the Orangery Cafe/Restaurant. Probably too hot for it, but I saw 'Sausage and mash' on the menu and thought "why not?". And very nice it was too...

...along with a slice of coconut and lime cake and a glass of wine. Very civilised. The wife went 'light' with a freshly made egg and cress sandwich and some crisps.

Snaffled. Alone.

I walked back to the car slowly.

And yes it has a filter on it but it still looked as good without. I lost the original image if that makes amends.

A 'Stinco' (calf shank) that looks a lot smaller on the photo than it is in real life. Was actually one of nicest pieces of meat I think I've eaten.
