We have an inter office cook off of some description every couple of months. It gets the various offices (CID, Public Protection Unit, intelligence department etc) together in one place (although we work in the same complex, it's different offices). It's a bit of rivalry/piss taking/competition. Usually the comps get judged by the bosses with a guest judge - this time it was the canteen manager as she'd let us warm the pies in the kitchen.

I managed second place with a steak and ale pie. The winner was a colleague from my office with a sublime chicken, chorizo and peppers number. Just a slight kick of heat but it was a deserved winner. He scored an extra 2 points for home made pastry (I was up making pie at midnight so went with ready made) but I'm surprised that pastry aside, he only beat me by 1 point, his was far better than mine.

Once the judging is done, we put out a tan oh announcement and get the uniform staff in to have some pie or whatever's the theme for that competition. It's a little thing but it does help break down barriers and team build.

Or - poach the egg, drain it, roll in seasoned flour then beaten egg then breadcrumbs and fry until golden.

That breaded egg looks sublime. do you slightly undercook so the yolk doesnt go hard when frying ?
