If it's on a fan setting it's inevitable. Get in to the habit of a half way rotation and you'll be cured of uneven browning.

Thanks for the tip - yes its a knackered old electric fan oven. I thought the point of a fan oven was to circulate the heat evenly?

I think it's down to the internal shape of most ovens. My relatively new ones still have a hot spot in the same position as yours.

I notice that a few of the manufacturers are now trying to design flat internal walls to aid even heat flow which presumably lessens the issue.

yes.
Agas cook evenly as well, but are also expensive and compromised in so many other ways.

I think turning half way through is the only solution.

Sorry, should have put a wink No way I'd pay that much for an oven!

biggrin didn't bat and eyelid... This is pistonheads after all HAHA.

I think I can survive turning the tray round for the price difference :-)

They do look cool though those wolf ovens! If only I was made of money.

Can you tell it's a Monday in the NHS? I spent several hours longer than usual processing A&E reports. What the hell happened at the weekend! I didn't even get to eat the Snickers.

Nobu Matsuhisa pretty much invented the dish, so not much of a coincidence!
