Grind beans, make espresso (with a machine). It's the only way to get up really. wink

yes We've got one too. Useful little toy. smile
Goes wrong a lot and doesnt really make the milk hot enough does it.
Worked at least twice daily for 18 months without fail, since we bought it.

As for not hot enough... well, ours seems capable of burning milk.

Not sure who got the one out of tolerance... you or me! hehe

This is a constant arguement whenever people mention Nespresso.

I consider Nespresso to be the 320kbps MP3 of the coffee world. It's good enough to be enjoyable, but convenient and quick - but does the job.

I love vinyl - but given the nature of my lifestyle I don't get the chance to enjoy it.
Spot on.

I've had proper traditional espresso machines, grinders etc etc, and also been around the best coffee and machines commercially for my job for several years, yet I have a Nespresso machine at home.

For a decent enough quality and total ease/no mess, nothing gets close.

Their customer service is fantastic too.

IMSO (In my snobby opinion) instant "coffee" doesn't actually taste like coffee, so if you like instant, you don't neccesarily like coffee.

I have one in the camper van and use the same method, it's far better than the cafetierre (sp?) we use at home. I use the illy espresso ground coffee. I think I need to double up so that I have one for the kitchen too.

Well some people enjoy the taste of actual coffee, and then some people just want a hot drink that wakes them up in the morning. You might as well warm up a can of Red Bull for all that instant has to do with drinking coffee.

Right ... you called me a git! That does it. Mr Murr, there are (and ive counted them) approximately ten posts in this thread, all prior to you pitching up, strongly hinting at the machine owned by pnm and myself! There were also lots of pretty pictures too! winkEDIT i exaggerate - There was only one whistle

I'm off to website feedback to complain about people not reading whole threads ... grrrrr ...

Taylors Hot Lava Java - harsh, but a bit of a zing about it.
Taken from here: click. wink
Now that's my weekend/work at home coffee smile
tbh I've moved back and forth between coffee brewing methods but kept finding myself using an old 3 cup mokka pot I bought as a student. Net result is a few years back I picked up a 6 cup Bialetti (decided to go for the original design) which makes one large mug's worth at a time.

Surprised no one has mentioned the AeroPress yet!

Very impressed with it for making Americanos, and so much better than a cafetiere or drip machine!

Still use the Nespresso machine for espressos and cappuccinos though. smile
I use one of those at work.

At home I use a Siemens bean to cup machine.

Just signed up to the Hasbean annual subscription, so I get a different bag of coffee beans each week.

I tried a bean to coffee machine once, but the tomato sauce gummed up all the innards.

I have a 3 cup stove top pot but it only half fills a mug which I then drink. Am I doing it right as previous posters have talked of adding hot water.

The stovetop ones do espresso, (sort of), so should really be served in the little espresso cups. My 1 cup pot fills a mug, with thick I drink quite happily. So the 2 cups it speaks of are little espresso cups.
