Just bought 2 packs from Thamesmead store (wore my stab vest wink ) so will see what they are like...

The review was not that bad ("...it is still pretty delicious") & do we really expect the pukka real McCoy for £2.99 when it's normally £120 per steak?

I think a trip to my pantry is in order tonight then!
I'm not so sure the normal clientele in Evesham are going to snap them up.

I went there yesterday morning at opening but they'd had a burst water pipe and could not state when they would reopen, so I went to work. Didn't bother going in on the way home as assumed they'd be gone. Might pop in tonight and see if any left.

Picked up 2 packs in Evesham yesterday afternoon, there didn't look a lot of interest in them from the regulars.

No sign whatsoever in mine last night.
Pimped a pizza with Prosciutto and Feta instead.

I gently fried one of my Wagyu burgers tonight in mild olive oil on a low temp - turned every so often for total cooking time of 20 mins.
Served on the brioche bun , with a slice of roquefort cheese on top.

It was juicy and tasty and I enjoyed it.

Value for money - I think so smile

I'm used to swamping burgers with mustard, tomato ketchup and onions...which I didn't do in this case. It's still a damn fine burger biggrin

While on the subject of steak , well almost tried Lidl Ribeye twin pack last night , very good texture and flavour 2 steaks for £6.15 or so . Liked it so much I went back today and bought some more. We used to buy the individual steaks and liked those these are just as good and cheaper too.

First Aldi experience has been average. Food cheap and quality comparable with mainstream supermarket, but the narrow isles, range of products, number of people, and crap presentation of the products made it a nightmare to get round. Will probably try again late one evening and see if its better with fewer people.

£39, it needs to stay cool and dry only, suspect it will keep a while as its been maturing for 12 months, its good for eating, a friend said he would take 1/2 of it last time it was on sale, so he's taking 1/2 on wednesday.

6.5kg, suspect the bone is 1ish kg, will slice the 5 odd kilos into a manageable chunk and get it in the fridge or I will end up doing a dinner party soon with that the main event.

Yes, eating, but on its own? In certain recipes?

I see the group of people hacking bits off it as part of a tapas type affair, but not sure what I'd do with the rest of it.

Lids's micro curries are good.lots of meat.

They do a chow mein which is a bit sloppy as they veg wilts but delicious.

Their version of snickers 59p for 8 not quite the same but half the price.

Pack of ham off cuts. Great for sarnies £1.65 and you get plenty.

Disappointed with their version of peperami. Shame as we used to buy TIP versions in Germany for next to nothing and were nice.
