The 28 day dry aged ribeye, sirloin & rump steaks are pretty good as well as good value but I've yet to see the mythical Wagyu burgers, or any tickets for them on an empty shelf of the meat section.

Perhaps you have to get there just before they open?
Just picked myself up 10 packets from Aldi in Blackwater.

...picked up some 'Northwood' Bakewell tarts, I was impressed, just as good as Mr Krippling....
I'm surprised they don't call their cakes 'Herr Kipplezing' They are identical! We did a 'back to back' test of the fondant fancies: exactly the same.
does mr K ever claim not to make things for others ....

both Walkers and Smiths have done crisp / savoury potato/corn snack lines for retailers own brands ona regualr basis ...
And I'm pretty sure that McCoys make Aldi's ridged crisps.
really?

I'll have to give them another try. I remember buying them a few years back and they were a terrible comparison. Crisps are one of the few things that I felt let Aldi down (although as I say, not tried them for a while and things have certainly improved in that time!)
The meaty multipack flavours in Aldi changed at the same time as McCoys did - from the same flavour combination to the same flavour combination!

Only 4 packs for me from Pheasant Street Worcester this morning. Reckon buying 10 packs would have cleared the shelf.

Will see if the taste warrants being exposed to the feckwitted driving in the car park.

Yep, so they do exist, got two packs from Aldi in Selsdon - there must have been about 50 packs on the shelf at 1pm today.
Will find out tonight if I should have bought a few more biggrin

Finally managed to get a couple of packs of Wagyu this morning. I'll report back on whether or not their regime of massaging and sake produces better burgers than Lidl's venison and pork burgers........ smile

When I first got in to the shop, there was none in the "specially selected" fridge section, went and bought some other bits and bobs and when I walked past the fridge again they had just re-supplied it with about 50 packs.. So I bought ten as I may be having a few people over for a BBQ on Sunday biggrin

Other half is out for the evening leaving me to decide what I will have for dinner.. Choice was easy having a few packs of the Wagyu burgers in the fridge biggrin

New Zealand meat and New Zealand wine.

Should have toasted the bun, but maybe I will do that in an hour or so when I put the second one in wink

Topped with a bit of mature cheddar. Devine.

Update:

Ok, tried them this evening. Very very good, but I still prefer the venison & pork burgers. We grilled them them, but will do them on charcoal next time which may improve the flavour.

Will buy again when no v&p available.

If they were ever in stock I could probably tell you. Have tried very regularly to spot them in Asda Lower Earley for 6 months now

Why not order them via an online shop?

Well, they tasted good but for the next few hours my lips felt like they'd been dipped in salt, and no, I didn't add any salt.
Gave the second pack to a mate.

Do have to point out that I do use salt when cooking and cook lots of Chinese dishes with light & dark soy sauce, and love them as dipping sauces, but the Wagyu burgers were really over the top.

Still, at least they do exist, just need to find & shoot a haggis on the annual Spot the Haggis website this Christmas. biggrin

That's odd. I've just had my first wagyu burger, and I added some salt to it. I've never added salt to a burger before.

The texture of the burger was divine... and demonstrated that other burgers are made from pretty tough meat.

I was expecting a much "beefier" taste, and was a bit disappointed on that front. However, I did have a rather fiery mustard/ketchup combo which may have masked the taste. So next time there will be no mustard.

We've just had our first wagyu burgers, bacon cheeseburgers as it happens.

Melt in the mouth.
Miss FiF Best burger she's ever had.
Mrs FiF Extremely good, good job bought extras.
Both of them would have preferred the burger to be a little thinner, but I think that's going to increase the chance of over cooking and toughness.
But definitely not too salty, in fact not salty at all.

If the Lidl venison and pork are better than these then they must be seriously good.

Strange.

I didn't find them salty either.

Not fussed about ketchup but noted the nice looking Kiwi Pinot noir, was that aldi/lidl too, was it good and if so how much........
