Lidl Jelly Beans are better (IMHO) than "genuine" Jelly Beans. Honest.

Prefer the texture and flavour.

Half price this weekend too !!!

My cousin sent me this (Aldi apparently) are they real? Please tell me they're real.

No local Aldi but I'm planning a road trip on Wednesday. If they're real.

I imagine that they would taste like unsalted plain crisps with a hint of quinine - look forward to someone trying them out and reporting back. biggrin

I found an Aldi and went on a road trip. Spent over £80 on Cheese, Gin and Crisps.

They're nice. Probably taste much like Ready Salted Crisps with a hint a Quinine. But I wouldn't know what they tasted like. I like them. Something quirky and different. I've also purchased the Venison and Red Wine and Camembert and Onion ones.

Just had the award winning aged sirloin steak, probably the nicest steak I have had. ( and I eat a lot of steak)

They are doing, not sure if new, but chicken Salad bowls. Had the mango chicken and it is really nice and fresh, well worth the £1.49 it costs.

I am getting a but tried of Tesco and Aldi really do offer some good stuff, along with the cheaper stuff.

Did anyone go for an Aldi turkey last year? Last couple of years we've gone free range from the local butcher but at 60 or 70 its not cheap. Toying with getting a bird from Aldi this year.

I have a feeling most of the flavour is in the prep and cooking rather than the bird itself...

Maybe been mentioned before but I really like Aldi chocolate digestives. Slightly malty flavour in the biscuit, much nicer than McVities and less than half the price.

In non Aldi news I have recently discovered the joy of Asda SmartPrice.

Asda brand plain crisps - 6 for 90p (eye level)
Asda SP plain crisps - 12 for 66p (look down... no, further down, at the floor)

Packaging is predictably st but if you put them in a bowl nobody would be any the wiser they were eating poverty spec crisps. 24 packs at £1.32 is nearly a pound less than the Aldi/Lidl Snackrite equivalent. I eat a lot of crisps so this mounts up, especially if I buy a load at a time to make the detour worthwhile.

Grapes.

We get through a lot of them for the kids. The Aldi ones seem to be consistently tasty and sweet compared to Tesco's bland efforts.

Lidl do specialty grapes that are very good... massive seeded grapes and Witches Fingers which are both excellent.

The MIL has been getting the rolly poley turkeys for the past couple of years. Go on sale on the 20th I think but get in there early, they sell out quick.

...very good by the way!

Lidl's digestive very disappointing. They sell McVities plain digestive, but not McVities chocolate ones. bds.

Their Dopiaza sauce is ok, spicing is a bit generic but its fine if you aren't in the mood to cook. Bunged a couple of jars in the slow cooker with some lamb for a few hours and pimped it up with potatoes, spinach and coriander. Good curry for minimal effort.

Had the Aldi Wagyu burgers again last night, with M&S ciabatta roll and a slice of Stilton.

Lovely and moist, even Mrs SB who's not a fan of burgers thought it was one of the best she's had.

I Bobbed in for a few sirloin steaks off the back of a recommendation.

Probably the best supermarket steak i have had. Asda can get to fk with their abysmal offerings from now on.

Im going to trawl through this thread now and make a shopping list.
