Mrs IA2 bought a full size bottle of sweet wine form Lidl for making a jelly (Muscat Rivesaltes 6.99). We've just finished off what was left with some blue cheese, seriously seriously good.

I've had a lot worse for a lot more.

Ballycastle Irish Cream, bloody sold out at the three local Aldi irked
Make your own, much much nicer than the bought stuff....
The wife finished off a bottle of Aldi "Specially Selected Irish Cream" last night, when she scanned it into "My Fitness Pal" it came up as Baileys.

More than likely made by Baileys. Still prefer our home made version smile

What do you use as an emulsifier.

Aldi precooked Jumbo prawns in the chiller are lovely and very cheap just done dinner for 2and a little one for £3 or less . Spaghetti, tin of chopped tomatoes, some easy chilli and Garlic and some spring onions fresh chopped on top , very tasty.

From Lidl, but their frozen paella is superb! It's 2quid for a bag I think, just whack it in the wok and it is ready in about 5 minutes. My favourite ready meal!

agree paella is great loads of fish in it. I cook it in microwave a lot easier.

Went in homebargains and found sun dried tommotoes, stuffed artichokes and some other bottled things like pesto all a quid.

Lidl's pesto is remarkable good. I also have pesto from these folks:

Whilst it is undoubtedly better than the Lidl pesto, the Lidl pesto costs significantly less than £5.70 for 180 grams

I see that Lidl have stopped the half-price weekend deals and have gone to specials on fruit/veg and meat similar to Aldi...except Aldi have 6 offers and Lidl are doing 4.

This weekend gone my local Lidl were doing both. I assumed this was to compete against Aldi, hence just three/four of each.

Interesting Lidl stopped the half price ( Super Saturday ) offers a few years ago here in Ireland but since late 2015 have gone back to half price Sarurday and Sunday Offers. And in France they still have the Super Saturday Half price offers. Traveling between Ireland, UK, France and Germany and Spain I notice very different prices and offers.

Wine - their own Bin xxx

Before Xmas I picked up one of each of their various Bin ... wines in our local store - reds and whites.
Had a couple so far - tonight was Bin 10.

OK - 10 quid a bottle but you do appear to get what you pay for - as the saying goes. Bin 10 - fruit - and more fruit - wow.

They now appear to have a new website link dedicated to ''Wines Direct'' and currently offer free carriage. £60 for six bottles. In a weeks time (new credit card month - two major services on the current month - and several bottles of whisky) I will be ordering another six bottles !
