We had the Paella a couple of nights ago. Excellent quality ingredients.

Yesterday, we had the Gressingham crispy duck. It was delicious.

The (Lidl) Irish duckling is excellent.

The paella is great, just a few too many peas in my latest bag of it.

We had duck from Lidle a couple of months ago, and I agree. It was excellent. As it was the first time that we had ever roasted a whole duck, we hadn't given the sauce any thought. We ended up adding some orange juice to bog standard Bisto gravy. It tasted superb!

Bought a load of braising steak today to do a Bouef Bourguignon, it'll be interesting to see what it's like, it was quite a bit cheaper than Sainsburys.

Right, I'm going to try the Wagyu Burgers today. To those that like them - what is your preferred cooking method?

I'm sure it's on the packet, but I am not in the kitchen any more, how long for/what temp? I had been planning on grilling them.

No oven baking instructions on the packaging, but try about 20 minutes at 200c.

I've got the Wagyu burgers today too, I tend to grill mine; the wife's will be well done, mine will be a bit pink in the middle.

Paired with a slice of smoked back bacon, I'm thinking of also adding a slice of black pudding too but not so sure, finished off in a brioche bun; yumm.

We opened a bottle of Pyrene Crianza 2010 tonight.

It is, without doubt, the best wine that I have had for a long time.

Sadly, I do not remember when I bought it. A quick Google suggests that it is on sale at Lidl for £5.99.

If they have it next week, I will get at least 6 bottles.

It smells nice, it tastes awesome, and it has great colour.

I really don't think that you could get such a wine for less than £15 - £20 in Waitrose.

I understand what you are saying.

I really do!

I had assumed that my wife was going to something special. She saw the dinner as a standard roast chicken. When it was ready to be served, I asked about the gravy. When I heard that we were having Bisto my heart sank. So, I put aa third of the gravy into a separate saucepan and added the orange juice.

My wife sneered at the idea. After she tasted the result, she put some orange juice into the rest of the gravy.

Try it. You have nothing to lose.
