Wandered in to the local Lidl for the first time today to pick up some cleaning stuff. Noticed they had 2 litres of Westons Scrumpy Cider for £3.99, in a rather lovely glass bottle. Being Westons it should be decent but potent stuff...

Anyone tried it? Tempted to go back and get one!
Yes, tried it a few months ago. Got me drunk, enough said. drunk
More expensive in Morrisons...
The same stuff is on sale in Denbie's (the vineyard) shop for £14.99.

I may have lolled.

Lidl have a wine leaflet on their website. Some very nice wines, question is how do you buy them?

My local stores do not stock them, and the local managers cannot order them. Have mailed CS to ask how I can source them but getting nowhere fast.

Any bright ideas?

Perhaps you have the 'wrong sort' of Lidl?

Sounds like your store is slow to reorganize their wine shelves...

From what I can work out, the local managers have no say in ordering at all. It's all done centrally: "We get what we're given".

Just has some Rannoch smoked duck breast from Aldi for lunch, and it was delicious. I'll be buying more of that next time I'm in.

I believe that is the same in many supermarkets, even M&S do so.

Not seen any in our local one yet. Another one to look out for is the Ron Mulata Anejo they sometimes have in, very nice and about £14 a bottle.

I thought I'd seen in in my local store, but it appears to be a crappy 8 years old now.

Guess this year its:

1973 Ducastaing Armagnac
https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/product-range/christmas-...

Glen Marnoch 18 Year Old Whisky
https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/product-range/christmas-...

Glen Marnoch 24 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/product-range/christmas-...

Pretty certain the 24 year old was on at £29.99 last time as a gimmick.

Last years special whisk(e)y was £49.99, I remember because I bought myself a tablet and hat was the other thing people were queuing up for.

The 24 year old was cheaper before and in a less fancy bottle. Not worth the money if it's the same stuff.

18 year old is excellent in previous batches

24.11 Monday car essentials in Lidl.

Hope it includes their cracking winter screen wash. Down to my last bottle next topup.
