What's all the fuss over Weber BBQ's?

I've tried disposable BBQs in the past and always found them to burn very hot and they don't last very long, so that small Weber would seem to be ideal.

If I had a BBQ guest who was a non pork eater, I'd quite happily make the food non-piggy for everyone.

There are so many lovely North African and Mediterranean treatments for BBQ lamb, chicken and fish - plus beef burgers for the less adventurous - that no-one need ever notice the absence of pig.

I have to say, pork is my least favourite meat anyway.

I agree, lamb, beef, chicken, fish, shellfish - though there are some porky treats people may come to expect as barbecue Greatest Hits - particularly ribs and sausages.

I got my standard one touch from them, only issue I had was whoever packed it at Weber HQ forgot to include a few fixings but the seller sent out replacement bits swiftly. I will be ordering a one touch premium soon as a gift from these guys.

Got mine from there last week. Ordered at 3pm and arrived the next day.

My Weber belonged to my grandfather, must be getting on for 20 years old now. Lives outside, no rust on it apart from a little on the rack at the bottom of the legs, and works beautifully. Will be giving the wooden handles a rub down and a few coats of varnish in the next few days, and treating it to a new cover.

Pro q excel for low n slow, cheapo b&q gas job for a quick burger/ dawg for 2. Fair to say b&q rubbish will be replaced with weber gas grill when i get round to it.

Its the 57cm plus cover and all the tools- I feel they was robbed!.
Still, they have "upgraded" to gas, so their loss is my gain.

Living in an apartment block with a big balcony means that charcoal is not really the best solution.

The convenience of a big gas bbq cannot be beaten. I tend to use it most nights instead of using the kitchen.

got to agree with Bibbs, get a proper BBQ from the outset and it will become an extension of your kitchen rather than something that gets dragged out twice a year for the ritual burnt offerings to the God's.

And on Charcoal V Gas, yet to meet an Australian that doesn't use gas! Pretty sure that the land down under is up there with BBQ'ing reputation!

personally i have a Canadian made BroilKing, its effin brilliant! Gets used at least 3 times a week!

But your BBQ will have been used for pork previously. Not sure how far some people take it. I know a Muslim guy who will only follow the Halal rule 95% of the time.

Agreed... my boss is South African, he has a braai every weekend, rain or shine, and he lives in Littlehampton. He uses a Weber, and would never, ever, use a gas grill.
