Cafe Opium on George Street is always really good and there are normally lots of Chinese folk in there, so I take that as a good sign. Salt and Pepper squid is a must!

going back a few years when i was there, the top rated Thai place was always Chang Mai Kitchen on the High Street near Turl Street.

you'll probably need to book on a weekend but its very good.

Paddyfields near the train station is a great Chinese.
