Some good prices on Amazon for prime day.

Woodford for £20 for example.

Pleased this thread has been brought up, just pulled the trigger on a bottle of Bulleit Rye on Amazon. £22.50, not bad at all. I like the "original" so have high hopes for this, been wanting to get a bottle for ages, it all come in the end! smile

Out of interest, in the past year, I've had 3 different bourbons, Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel, Whistlepig Rye, and High west Rendezvous rye.

All were good, but the first and ;last I'd rate as exceptional, all very much worth a go if can be obtained .

I wasn't over impressed with the Bulleit Bourbon. Drinkable but nothing special, but I really liked the rye.

Latest one I've bought is wild turkey 101. Yet to try properly.

Same. It makes good Old Fashioneds (feels weird typing that!) with an equal measure of rye.

Missed out on discounted Eagles Rare on Prime today. Drat. grumpy

Not on Amazon but I picked up a bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oakes on impulse in the US recently.

Lovely. Slight hint of the burnt sugar on a good crepe brûlée. Definitely one if you have a sweet tooth.

I'd agree regarding the Bulleit Bourbon, nothing special, but not bad at the price point. Interesting to hear you thiink the Rye is good, I must say, I have yet to have tried a rye whiskey I've not liked, so live in quiet hope.

I agree re: Bulleit. The normal stuff is fine for cocktails or a quick and dirty gulp, but the Rye and 10 year old are a cut above.
A bottle of both arrived here yesterday from the Amazon Prime Day. biggrin

I wasn't keen on Old Forrester. Hope you like it.
Had a little taste last night. It's pretty good, but I'm glad I didn't spend 50 quid on it. Not a patch on Eagles Rare IMO.

I don’t drink Bourbon, but was taken to this place with work a few weeks ago so had to sample one. This is half the menu.

Part of me wishes there were a bar like that near me. Then the rest of me remembers I hate paying bar prices for whiskey! laugh

Seems I'm not alone in wondering where all those Bourbons were on offer.

As for other things, I've sampled the Bulleit Rye I bought from Amazon.Nice stuff, little in complexity, but a good solid Rye, and a repeat buy. I'm surprised its not more popular than it seems (RYE) ,perhaps it is and I'm out of touch in that repect.

I've found a bourbon I like even better than Blanton's, it's called Angels Envy it is so smooth and has a wonderful taste, although you have to shop around I've found it for £56 but some places try to relieve you of over £100 for it.
