saturday just gone on the way to york car boot we stopped off at the york road maccy d's.... never again !!! i got a breakfast wrap a coffee and an extra hash brown .... bloody disgusting !!! the hash brown if you could imagine it was like a solid lump of fried water... brown on the outside , but tasted of tap water and grease.. the wrap.... my god who ever thought of that i would happily execute... it had never seen a chicken or a pig despite purporting to have egg bacon and sausage... i doubt the the wrap had ever seen flour, the cardboard wrapping may have tasted better as that was wher most of the brown sauce was. NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!! The coffee was satle bitter and undrinkable too. utter s te !!

The greatest thing about them is the fact no one ever seems to want them, so on the rare occasions that I do get one, it's always freshly made when I order it, so the bun is steaming hot, and the fillet is straight out of the fryer and crispier than a crispy thing that's been left out in the sun.
Always finished too soon, though.. I have just called for a fillet o fish (my first ever) on my way home from work based purely on this post. It didn't disappoint and as you said, I had to wait for them to make it. Hot, fresh, crispy goodness. I shall be indulging again soon! Happy to have been your inspiration on this important day for you. Glad you enjoyed it! I'll have to respond in admirable fashion and have one myself soon. Think I've had one this year, so far.

Just had an utterly filthy chicken doner. For some reason I am genetically indisposed to eating normal healthy food on late shifts.

IMHO McDonalds coffee is one of the nicer tasting chain coffees out there. Certainly nicer than Starbucks or Costa. I'm not a McDonalds apologist, I like it now and again but there does seem to be an overwhelming desire to slag it off on PH for being poor quality food with no real ingrediants in it (no meat in the burgers, no spuds in the fries etc), when it is far from that.

I've always quite enjoyed their coffee, and as above it's quite highly regarded by a few people on here, when compared to the more obvious coffee outlets.
Agreed, McD's does get a slagging off here, but most seem grossly misinformed with regards to the ingredients and preparation standards, and some clearly havn't actually tried any of it "I'll never subject my body to that filth" etc.

I think some people on here criticise McDonald's, because they think they're too good to eat it.

I was never a big fan of McDonalds. In my meat eating days I'd go for KFC or BK first than Maccy D's last. I had my first Maccy D's earlier this year when moving house as it was the only thing open at the times and en route that was hot when doing the moving in the van. It was ok, warm and filled me up. Had BK been en route then it would have been chilli cheese bite heaven I have a personal record of 18 chilli cheese bites

My choice, in order, of the local dirty eating joints.. KFC, pizza hut, MacDonalds, chip shop, <enter random name> fried chicken, dominos, chinese, indian, Kebab van, eating from a public bin, burger king sometimes you just cant beat 8 hotwings, chips and a can of drink for £2.50 ala east london style XXX fried chicken outlets.. mmm

I had some for lunch and it wast steamy and dribbling all over my fingers. Nice, and a bargain.

Coffee is good at mcdonalds. You seem to get fresh ground espresso americano for about £1.70 when the local costa will be charging over a quid more at some outlets, like motorway services. so for their price I can get a coffee and a McFlurrey :-)

despite me and Mrs 2CV being perfectly good cooks, we get this all the time. Her for dirty dominos (has been known to polish 1 family-size to herself), skanky aldi frikadellen or chicken and mushroom pot noodle whereas mine are more varied. I had oven breaded chicken goujon things and potato cakes the other night. I often love a bit of pasta, crushed crisps, cheese and tommy K. KFC is a goodun. I think its normal!

Caulkhead said: - it's just soooooo bland and tasteless. . To be fair, whether you're talking music, cars, home decoration or food the majority will plum for safely bland. My only gripe is, on the rare occasions I need food in a hurry and muckdonaulds is the convenient option, I'm normally hungry 20 mins after eating it. Not so BK/pub burger/a (decent) kebab shop burger etc so it's plain there's something pretty funked up about what they sell.

Forget McDonald's/BK/KFC etc etc... This is the place to go for an awesome dirty burger: http://www.rockysfastfood.co.uk/Uauslly go to their Cranford branch, near Heathrow on the odd occasion and it is always jam packed full of people. Open until 3am too! Kebab/burger/wrap + chips + can of fizzypop can be had with reasonable change from a fiver. Super cheap!
