Ha. did you see my post above all the pictures? It seems you already knew about it. Best shop ever!
Missed that one - too busy looking at the pictures Yep, stumbled upon the place just before Xmas when I walked past on the way somewhere else, and managed to spend about £60ish on the way back. The range they stock is incredible..fortunately its just far enough away to be a special trip, as I've never spent less than £40 in there.
I spent an enjoyable Thursday evening drinking Camden Hell's in Borough Mkt. Has been my lager of choice for a while now, although a price tag just north of a fiver makes it a tad pricy.
I spent and even more enjoyable Friday (once the hangover had evaporated) drinking Yakima Red which they have had at my local for a while. Damn that stuff is good, as are the rest of the Meantime lagers I've tried.
I think the only other lagers I touch regularly are Kingfisher (best curry lager), Peroni and Pilsner Urquell.
If driving and wanting something a little lighter, Amstel isn't a bad drop IMO.

19 green bottles, sitting on a shelf....
Spotted these in Tesco at the meadows in Sandhurst last night, i've got 4 chilling in the fridge for tonight.
Finally managed to pick up a couple of bottles of this in Tesco tonight....only for them to flag up as a 'withdrawn product' when they were scanned at the checkout.Spotted these in Tesco at the meadows in Sandhurst last night, i've got 4 chilling in the fridge for tonight.
The staff could only think it was because they have zero product information on the bottle, and despatched someone from customer services to remove the remaining bottles from the aisle.
I hope to try it someday

If you like Duvel and La Chouffe then this is a well worth a try..
£2.99 in Waitrose but very nice! Probably just pips Tripel Karmeliet as my current favourite.

Quite why these threads descend into favouring the more 'obscure' but readily available lagers in somewhat beyond me.
Aside from the dross lagers like Fosters, Carling, Carlsberg there are some quite acceptable mainstream lagers around.
I am partial and do quite often buy 'obscure' beers from the supermarket (spice of life and all that) but if I want a lager im quite happy with a San Miguel, Carlsberg Export or a Becks.
IMO there isn't much taste separation between lagers.
Correct. This is because the big brewers have perfected the recipe for a not too malty, slightly hoppy refresher, a bit ( too?) sweet which can hit the spot when cool/cold. A triumph of marketing, thus when you venture into craft lagers or beers they will appear much better....or much worse.Premium lager is standard and inoffensive.Aside from the dross lagers like Fosters, Carling, Carlsberg there are some quite acceptable mainstream lagers around.
