My son has been on a trekking weekend with school so after picking him up we came home via a kebab shop that has a restaurant through the back in Chorlton

The lamb is particularly nice

Went to a place called Pie Minister in the Northern Quarter, Manchester today. I chose the standard Steak and Ale pie with mash, crispy shallots, cheese and red wine gravy with a side of pork scratchings!

It was one good pie!

Brought one of their Scotch Eggs back as well..

Then went for a Cartado..

A few from Manchester

Almost Famous

Red True BBQ

Apart from feeling like to oldest swinger in town, I thought Almost Famous was pretty good.
I was slightly disappointed with Reds Burger - but the ribs and wings are nice.

Interesting tip, I've been to reds twice now and haven't yet had the burger. Heading there on Sunday and was toying with trying one. Might just stick with the ribs and brisket now though.

May also just get a burger 'for the table' though too. wink

I bloody love Manchester!

I had the burger at reds and liked it, although I wish I had gone for the doughnut burger out of curiosity. Will definitely be giving Solita a try in Saturday. Will post up the results.

The wings are the biggest I have ever seen!

I ordered the "wrong" burger - can't remember what it was called but it had pulled pork on it and that was very fatty.

The best burger this year is in a place called "Offshore", a cafe in Verbier. It looks pretty normal but I swear they put crack in the dressing.
