Next door popped round with some courgettes tonight from their veg patch.

Cue grilled courgette, baby gem lettuce and fried egg.

Given my newly found confidence I have a couple of others.

Surf and Turf BBQ I cooked holiday in Spain

And a rib roast, I clearly need to learn to carve though!

Some homemade chicken tikka kebabs with garlic and coriander rice.

Marinated the chicken for 24 hours, then maxed out the BBQ to as hot as I could get it, they cooked in about 6 mins, and I got the charred effect I wanted outside, but lively and moist inside, top tip. Squeeze fresh lemons over the kebabs as soon as they come off the grill, makes a massive difference!

Rice had garlic, chilli and ginger gently fried in oil to flavour it, and also to sizzle the spices slightly, made a gorgeous smell in the kitchen!

You'd have been better off to carve the meat from the bone first really.

Run the knife down the rib until you hit the plate bone then across and the meat should come off as one lump.

Then carve the lump wink

Have you not heard of the new 7:0 diet, apparently it's a massive hit. I'm on it and love it.

Hah! Well I'm sure you don't have to watch your weight. At worst the 5:2 stops me from putting it on. Guess I like living a little too much...
