I've been off the no carbs/starch for two weeks and eating slightly more how I was before. Weight in this Saturday so will see how that goes. Might be back on it Monday! haha.

Good luck.

I'm on week 7 now, and have lost 7.5kg. Today is my birthday so will be well off the wagon but back on it tomorrow.

You don't happen to have a "rough" plan of what you're eating? I would be interested in seeing. Although, I love bread to much...

We could start a new thread but it would probably get moved to health & fitness!

Just search back through the three photo of your breakfast/lunch/dinner threads laugh

I was inspired by a couple of the others on here who have been doing low carb.

I'm losely following phase 1 of Atkins - have a look at their website for menu ideas.

It's actually been reasonably easy to come with meals as the weather has meant lots of light meals involving salad. Now that the weather has turned I'm not sure how I am going to manage without pasta/rice/potatoes. Any ideas gratefully received. biggrin

Just need to look for a substitute to pasta/rice/potatoes.

Pasta and Rice are fairly easy as you can get wholegrain and brown with are complex carbohydrates. Which have less starch than white rice and normal pasta.

Again Sweet Potato has less starch than white potato. But also substitute potato with other root veg of equal substance for example broccoli, cabbage, swede, parsnip, butternut squash.

IAUI "complex" carbohydrates are yet more misleading marketing words, they are not at all complex to your stomach. Wholemeal bread is digested so fast it has a higher glycaemic index than granulated sugar.

You would be better off replacing the obvious starches with green vegetables.

Yeah you can; chicken dinner, steak dinner, fish dinner and a fruit bowl.

hehe

I confess it was a little more rare than I would normally have a steak - I was thrown by the thickness of the meat (ooer, missus) but it was very nice nonetheless.
