Thank you.

Since I can't find the lunch thread on my phone...

Flash fried sirloin sandwich, with italian herbs, onion, garlic and a slither of scotch bonnet. Fresh bread, mayo and mustard.

I know it doesn't look too appetising, but it was beautiful!

Pasta in a sachet of tomato sauce. Cooked on a camping stove in a thunderstorm for the full effect.

bet that tasted incredible, something about being freezing and knackered that makes food hugely welcomed!

I bought 44.5kg of pork today. Half a Duroc pig from Derbyshire to be precise.

It wasn't that great to be honest. Convenience food in Peru isn't all that so I have to take what I can get. It seems my favourite camping food of Stagg chili con carne is a dim and distant memory until I reach the US.

I have got some Venison in for Saturday, was going to do a pie. Seeing this has made me think again!

Can't beat a hearty casserole when the nights are getting colder. Proper food lick

didn't get a picture as it all disappeared too quick... but tried a new way to cook steak (must be an inch thick)...

I tried with feather steak and it was beautiful.

1) season and oil the steak quite heavily to give a nice crust later.
2) whilst waiting for it to get to room temp, preheat oven to 125-135 degrees C
3) put steak on rack in the oven for 20+ mins, mine was 350g so it went in for 20 mins.
4) take steak out to rest for 15 mins.
5) just before resting done heat a pan/griddle up as hot as it can go... can use oil if you want its your choice.
6) sear on both sides for 1 - 2 mins on your preference.
7) serve.

Beautiful and bar trying sous vide, this is my new way to cook steak.

Gives a very tender and moist medium rare to rare steak, but to be honest as its so tender I don't care that its not rare to blue like I normally have.

Not had freezer food for ages. Weird as my working days are longer than before but we're actually making dinners now!
