I fking love it, the quality was excellent and it was on offer for €33,90 per Kilo. So there.
Maybe they have changed their suppliers. I last went in 2010 and I have worked with several people who have told me interesting things about their quality! Customer price isn't too bad at all though.£48/kg for rump?!
The butchers I've worked in since a young lad has the best steak i've ever had - I never have steak from anywhere else, resteraunts included, as it's just disappointing in comparison! It's spoilt me.
Rump £22/kg
Rib eye £30/kg
Sirloin £33.75/kg
Fillet £45/kg
My boss has used dry aged Surrey Farms Beef since the beginning, and it's superb. (http://www.surreyfarm.co.uk/)
I recommend rump all the time! Good rump really isn't like most people expect - it should be very tender, and full of flavour with the fat, and of course the cheaper option. For me, it's rump from work, or if it's a real treat, rib eye.
Oh, and if you get the opportunity to try a rose veal T-bone - do it!

Maybe I meant fillet. I can never remember the cuts! I just love steak.
Yeah, rump is a cheaper cut. Hence my scepticism. As the chap above has said though, it seems to be favoured by butchers and I'll certainly be having it again next time.Fillet, well, obviously can very nice but the lack of fat means in can lack some flavour.

Rump purchased. 31oz's in one slice. opps.
Lovely jubbly - hope theres a bit of fat on the edge! My boss trims too much off for my tastes, but then again our clientele demands lean - sacrilege!I do hope it was from the butchers - it annoys me immensely how my mother doesn't support the local butchers, especially since they have employed me throughout my studies for a number of years now!
