Ok, I've had another one, couldn't wait! Just split them open and remove the bones (easy to do, the backbone simply pulls out in one move). Then dot with butter and microwave for 2 mins. Can also be eaten cold.

Got mine from here: http://www.arbroathsmokies.com

Smoky goodness smile

Split open and bones removed :

I love Arbroath Smokies. Spinks has a stand at the Royal Highland Show they smoke them at the show and serve them warm fresh from the smoker.

Yep, I got these from Spinks. Only bought two pairs, wish I'd bought more now! One pair left in the fridge but it's calling out to me... must... resist...!

Home made, proper beef chilli, made with beef brisket and simmered slowly for hours. None of that mamby pamby mince stuff! Contains proper smoked, dried Mexican chillis soaked in coffee, loads of garlic, chillis, cinnamon, cumin, smoked paprika, onions, bay leaves, tomatoes and and finished with scotch bonnet chillis and coriander!

Served with home made fresh guacamole, salsa and toasted nachos with melted cheese, tomatoes and sliced chorizo, all finished with a drizzle of sour cream and a some home made chimmichurri sauce!

Cheers mate, boosted by the scotch bonnets! Was proud of my 11 daughter, as she added them too! (Ok, she might have eaten a bit more sour cream than normal, but she loved it!)

Good to get the young ones on potent food early on to avoid future fussiness.

Chilli looks great can you post recipe for it if possible.

Surf n Turf again this evening but fired up the bbq for the first time this year. Slowly cooked ribs in the oven then hot smoked on the bbq along with par boiled lobster also finished over the coals. Washed down with soem lidl Bordeaux sparkling White.

Just over 20 squid for that lot including booze.

Dirty nachos V1:

Doritos cool original
1 red chilli
3 spring onions
Half a green pepper
1 diced tomato
Salsa
Cheddar cheese
6 franks chopped and fried off
Smattering of branston pickle

So wrong yet so right, V2 will contain bacon lard ons and fried onions!

Char grilled aged ribeye steak with potatoes and a Thai salad. Made a homemade Thai dressing, of lime juice, fish sauce, red finger chillies, garlic, sugar and Thai basil.... Bloody hot, but bloody lovely!
