Before scrolling down, I presumed you were going to have eaten a hole side of sashimi. :-)

Smoked chilli oil rice noodles, trimmed beans and brined salmon loins pan fried.
Barring the noodles only because I am on a diet, yum. I would eat salmon like that with beans and a but of ricotta twice a week.

Do you buy whole fish. It looks that way.

It's an Ocado side of salmon weighing 750g for £8 which is great value and good quality.

Try cutting it between the loins like this as it offers a lovely consistent chunk rather han an uneven steak.

The tails are in a dry cure ready for cold smoking.

That is great value. I wouldn't expect Ocado to be 'cheap' I'll definitely look into it as we eat a lot of Salmon, even the youngest (under 2) likes it. Cheers B

I thought that salmon looked familiar!
It's only £8 when on 1/2 price offer, it's back at £16 now. But to be honest it's on offer quite regularly, so just wait for the next offer to come up

Inspired by all the delicious rib contributions on this forum, thought I would give it a go!

Pork ribs, dry rub on. Can't wait to cook these later.

Ok not big not clever
800g chopped chicken
1 large onion
1 large courgette
1 cubed potato
2 celery (not sure where that came from)
3 bell peppers
2 jars Sharwoods Jalfreze sauce
1 tin chopped tomatoes
lots of random herbs and spices

I got given the largest le creuset casserole pot they make a while back, great for making big portions.

Very nice bun to fish ratio. People using burgers take note. The meat to bread ratio is a very important part of the whole experience. Top work Cotty.

So, since Cotty has broken the seal, so to speak, here's my dinner tonight.

Tesco "Finest" burgers, oven-cooked sautéed mushrooms, Leerdammer Lite cheese, some iceberg lettuce, a dash of tomato ketchup, Waitrose steak cut oven chips, and a cheeky BrewDog Punk IPA.

I realise that, strictly speaking, cooking sliced mushrooms in spray oil in the oven is not sautéed but you know what I mean.

It was nice.

That's good too. The Tesco's finest burgers, the 2 for £3 ones are very good and punch above their lowly status.

I would recommend that rather than Waitrose chips you go for these bad boys from Sainsburys

http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sainsburys-price-co...

If you deep fry them they end up really crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It's a really good cheat if someone is expecting home fried chips, cough wink

You have to deep fat fry them though, none of this oven cooking ... Satan!

Ok I was going to post up my left overs meal but as so often on here started reading other peoples posts and started drooling

Here is my left overs meal from the freezer.

Can you guess what each bit is?

There should have been two black round things but sadly whilst my back was turned our four legged canine seems to have started dinner too early ... bad boy. frown

The leftovers of the monster chilli I made the other day, with home made wedges, and a Amstel bier in a proper Amstel glass (Tesco currently have a special offer of 4 x 440ml cans of Amstel for £4 with a free glass).

The chilli was made with 500g of lean mince, a jar of Uncle Ben's Hot Chilli sauce, some hot curry powder, and a quarter of a bottle of Tabasco Habanero sauce. Split into two portions.

The stomach is evil and must be punished.

Do they charge extra if you want it cooked? wink

Only joking - I don't mind how people have their steak so long as they enjoy it. biggrin
