It's a bit too much like a liqueur for me tbh. I think my tastes in rum might not fit with the norm mind - I was in a place in St. Ives earlier this year and got talking to the propriretor about rum and he insisted I try a few that he thought were all superior to Mount Gay XO.

Some I didn't even bother with as I'd already tried them and disagreed. The ones I did try I also disagreed with him on! All very sweet to me.

I'd like to try Doorly's next. I'd also like a bottle of Angostura 12yo as that is very, very nice stuff, but it's a bit pricier at £50+

Yes, I know what you mean. I don't mind the odd shot of it, but it's too sweet to have a second glass.
I have a bottle of Ron Zacapa - Centenario 23 Year Old Solera arriving tomorrow just in time for the weekend, so I may have a new favourite by Monday :-)

Over in Majorca on hols, sampled my first few rums. Havana club anejo especial in the airport, liked it. Havana club 7, underwhelming. Just picked up a bottle of brugal anejo for €15 and wow, excellent. For £12, I'll have to bring a few home. Tastes very similar to Hibiki 12 which is my favourite whisky.

However, as I was coming to the end of the bottle, I thought I'd be a bit naughty and made a couple of very tasty mojitos with some of the mint that has grown like mad this year in my garden.

If you want a nice tasting rum at a bargain price, try the M&S Bajan Estate XO Rum, for £24 it's a really good deal.

If you have a Sparks card there is currently 10% off Whisky, not sure if they apply it to Rum as well though.

A friends girlfriend has just come over from Bermuda. She has a bottle of Goslings 140 for me!! Cant wait, funny thing is its not listed anywhere.

Got it about 2 weeks ago. It's all gone. It's really quite drinkable!

Grr. Sent the wife who was heading to Sainers for a shop today. Despite consistently having it every time I've been in there, including last week, there's none on the shelves today

Was looking forward to a few rums tonight. Might get one on order, and maybe pop into M&S on the way home.
