Hey Swervin, Mount Gay XO is currently on special offer of £29/bottle at Sainsburys, or £28.10 (Prime) or £30.99 (for non Prime), thought you might want to stock up :-)
Cheers for the heads up! thumbup Been waiting to see it on offer for some time.
Grr. Sent the wife who was heading to Sainers for a shop today. Despite consistently having it every time I've been in there, including last week, there's none on the shelves today mad

Was looking forward to a few rums tonight. Might get one on order, and maybe pop into M&S on the way home.
Yes my local Sainsbury's didn't have any in either. I think it's only stocked in their high end stores, as I've never seen it on the shelves of my nearest 3 stores :-(
It's still £28 on Amazon if you have Prime, and Ocado are doing it for £28 as well.

You

Added these 3 today as I'm heading home from Tenerife, Diplomatico is to replace a nearly empty bottle.

Also bought the Mount Gay XO and Red Leg on the Amazon deals.

For those drinking their ages rum neat, I suggest a couple of drops of angostura orange bitters. A flor de Cana 18 or 25 with this added is a true delight

This has been my favourite since I went to Bermuda... my last bottle from there, then I'll have to buy the 750ml from Waitrose for £24 until I go back to get some more!

Given the dent I've already made in this bottle I'm beginning to think I should have!

Having just returned from Cuba, I've brought back this:-

It's very rounded, but not singing from the same hymn sheet as (say) an El Dorado 15.

There were a couple of Havana Club "Specials" on sale as well, but the prices were a bit salty to say the least!

and now for something completely different.....CORNISH RUM -and we're not talking 17th century smugglers :-)!

Revolver Rum, brewed in Cornwall and very good it is too -lovely pale amber, soft and well rounded -perfect for sipping neat like a good cognac. I tried it on holiday down there earlier in the year and its beautiful so I bought a bottle and needless to say it didn't last long when I got it home! There's limited places to buy it outside Cornwall, but the good news is I discovered if you talk to a guy called Stuart at the distillery nicely they'll do mail order.

There's another Cornish rum and it's pretty good stuff, Dead Man's Fingers.

http://www.drinkfinder.co.uk/dead-mans-fingers-sma...

On a related matter, Healeys cider farm do a range of ciders where they have matured in rum/whisky/brandy barrels. The rum one was really good, but combining Rattler and rum can only be a good thing in my book. As the oak matured ciders are low volume products, they can only be bought from their farm shop.

Strangely (relatively) rumless at present.

So just pulled the trigger:

Ron Millonario Sistema Solera 15 Reserva Rum
Gosling's Black Seal 151 Rum
Ron Zacapa Centenario Sistema Solera 23 Rum
Plantation Gran Anejo Rum Guatemala & Belize
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Rum

Only the last two have been regulars of mine, I'm particularly looking forward to trying the Ron Millonario, they have an XO which is fairly pricey but rated very highly.

Love this guys rum blog, and haven't had a bad one that he's liked https://therumhowlerblog.com

Oh and got cheeky sipping tequila: Fortaleza Reposado Tequila

I too am nigh on rumless. I really should have got 2 bottles of the Mount Gay XO when it was reduced at Sainsbury's last month furious

They now don't seem to have it on the shelves at all frown

Tempted to go with a Doorly's XO next. I might put the message out that an Angostura 1824 would make a very nice Xmas pressie...
