Only have one bottle from the barrel at Cadenheads in Edinburgh. 65% ABV I think and very good. Almost out though.

Mountgay is £17 in Asda at present, last time it was on offer in Tesco and Saisburys it was £16 so pretty decent value for a Daily Driver.

Given all the praise Aldi's Booze is getting im going to give the "Old Hopking Dark Rum" a bash tonight its £9.90 a bottle fingers crossed. Stocked up on El dorado 15YO a while back for something like £35 a bottle which was ridiculously cheap

it's £15 in Waitrose, with the added bonus of not having to go to Asda.

Good spot. The Aldi Rum is not great, bit flat needed a fair bit of lime, better than Morgans and i suppose for <£10 its acceptable but i won't be finishing the bottle it will be off loaded on the next house party i go to where i don't like/know the host.

OT, but the Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin is excellent, almost as good as Bombay Sapphire and the 3.49 Pinot Grigio is something very special and at the price quite frankly unbelievable, knocked the socks off the £10 bottle of Sainsbury's tipple i tried it back to back with.

Nice, if you're a fan of Captain Morgans you should try the limited edition sherry oak finish. It's lovely, brought two bottles back from the states, but you might be able to get it online somewhere here.

I've just opened a bottle of Angostura 1824 - lovely with just an ice-cube added.

Aldi are selling this 8 year old rum for only £20, its been a while since i have had a rum but this is very nice and probably too good to be a mixer. They also sell their 15 year old stuff for £36 and that gets rave reviews

good, aged rum is a bargain imo compared to the cost of good whiskey.

I've got into rum in the last 12months. A relative got me a bottle of Lamb's - got into dark n stormys, so the wife got me a bottle of Gosling's Black Seal 80. I can't normally drink spirits neat without it triggering heartburn, but the Gosling's I found I could.cool Sadly I've just finished and now looking to replace with something else - tempted by the Gosling's Family Reserve. Suggestions welcome.

This is my current rum related stock:

one of half a dozen little Christmas things i do which i do in her memory.

This again, now down to £14 in Aldi and the 15 year old is down to £30!! (shifting the last of the Christmas stock i guess) you wont get a better rum at either price, the 15 year old is simply out this world by far the nicest spirit i have had but the 8 is nice neat too

tried some Havana 7 year old which is nice but prefer El Dorado
