With my pre school calculations, I make it 17 entries so far.
Even so it looks like this months comp will have to be table style voting system within the new thread.
Unless anyone has any other ideas?
There are free poll websites, you set it all up and they host for you. Even so it looks like this months comp will have to be table style voting system within the new thread.
Unless anyone has any other ideas?

Bumpetybump...
Had a look into these poll hosting sites and I'm just not sure if people would be that interested in voting if they had to follow a link to make the vote.
What's any thinking am I right.
I can't see any other way of doing it. Or have 2 poll's running with the top 2 entries from each poll going into a final poll to decide the winner, maybe.Had a look into these poll hosting sites and I'm just not sure if people would be that interested in voting if they had to follow a link to make the vote.

My other thought was to setup a table in which you can add you vote.
You just quote the last persons post and add to that.
Then add them all up at the end - means we can keep it all in one thread.
How do you stop multi voting? And seems to be a lot of faffing around TBHYou just quote the last persons post and add to that.

Well,
Wasn't expecting to enter this, but why not as I have a photo of the steak I cooked this eve.
Lovely 21 day aged Fillet, home made chips and rocket salad, with lightly cooked vine tomatoes
Also had peppercorn sauce, but not included in photo....
Was very nice, melt in mouth tender!
Glad I have found a decent butcher here in Dubai

ok how about numbering the pictures and then you just post the number that you want to vote for.
Then manually count the posts to find out who has the most votes.
Can't one of the Tech chaps at PH's Towers fudge together a one off poll for this comp? Then manually count the posts to find out who has the most votes.
I'm not sure about the quoting system - it won't be anonymous for a start, and half the long term regulars on PH have trouble with formatting - I struggle when posting from my iPhone (which is 90 % of the time).
Maybe you should start a poll on it...

In fact, in an idle moment I've just had a crack at making a poll in Surveymonkey and it's very easy as long as we're trusting people to only vote once. It gets trickier if you are trying to stop voters voting twice, -it's either cookies or doing some kind of email sign-in which would be a faff.
Late entry!
Traditional Lobscouse which was my Nan's recipe!
First pic is a bloody big slab of steak which after 7 hours on a low and slow cook turns into a proper stew!
My Nan always said that the spoon has to stand up in it and I've finally mastered that!
Loads to be freezed up :-)
Disclaimer!! This is not fine dining but bloody gorgeous :-)

That doesn't look "nice" (no offence intended) but I'd love to eat it, with some thick white bread & heavy on the butter! Traditional Lobscouse which was my Nan's recipe!

Thanks
Was from 'The Butcher shop & Grill'. Mine came from the Mall of The Emirates, (upstairs just above Virgin)
seems they also have a shop in Mirdif and JBR too. Really nice quality meat and they also do some excellent Biltong there too.

"Steak Three Ways"
I thought long and hard how to do something different with steak and this is the outcome.
Fillet steak and chunky chips with Bearnaise sauce, homemade corned-beef hash rissole and smoked sirloin on a pickled vegetable salad.
The sirloin went in a sweet brine last night then was smoked today in an old Cadburys roses tin with oak sawdust and apple wood twigs over the fire. Tasted good, -bit like really smoky pastrami. I pickled carrot and cabbage last night and cheated with some sliced pickled onions left over from Xmas, then mixed with a handful of green leaves.
The corned-beef hash was slow-cooked braising steak shredded up with creamy mash and then bread-crumbed before being deep-fried.
Really pleased with this one. Unlike some of my PH cooking entries it tasted and looked how I wanted it to...
