We decided to have a Chinese this evening. It came to £35 for this lot!

Mine:

Mrs Sammo's:

That was only half on each plate and we were both stuffed afterwards!

What kind of rice did Mrs Sammo have? Looks a bit more interesting than bog standard fried rice.

Had this last night, Chefs Special from local indians - made on a naan base - chicken tikka, onions, peppers, chilli, jalepenos (was supposed to have olives on as well but told them to leave those little rotters off)
Was quite nice, although they burnt the base a bit which made it a bit crunchy

It's an Indonesian rice dish called Nasi Goreng. It's spicy fried rice with prawns and shredded chicken, green chillies, shrimp paste, diced tomato, hot chilli sauce, egg, spring onion and cucumbers. It was absolutely delicious!

As I said this is about average price round our way! Even the crap chinese takeaways are only very slightly cheaper! If we are having an all out fat night then we can easily spend £60-70 and only have a fraction of what other people on this thread are getting for under half the price!

Where did you get it from? Would be happy to pay £35 for something decent, especially as most places seem to cost that much and aren't actually that good.

Try this place on Upper High St, Epsom:

I reckon it's easily the best in the area - try the Singapore noodles and the salt and chilli chicken.

A slight request chaps - on Thursday around 8pm I'll be heading back from Church Stretton in Shropshire, all the way up the A49 to Sandiway then across into Davenham for 9.30. I'll be forgoing stopping at home on my way for dinner, so would like to have something on the road - something preferably a lot like this:

Can anyone recommend me a good, but reasonably priced, dirty takeaway en route to satisfy my carnivore cravings? The reserve plan is to stop at the Mcdonalds in Shrewsbury or Whitchurch, but that wouldn't quite be the same.....

thanks!

You should be spending no more than £16 for a decent Chinese takeaway foe 2 in Surrey. You are being classically ripped off and the more you buy from these places the more they will rip you off. Stop giving them money.
