You had already started eating that when you took the picture right? I'd be pretty pissed off with that portion size. Whenever i get chinese it wants to burst out the top.
Correct - was a good size portion to start off with. It got ironed out fairly quickly though.

I'm stuck in a rut where lunch is about £12 a day.

Then I get the 2x 600ml Peroni for £5 from the local shop and spend a fortune on dinner.

I seem to be working to eat (st) at the moment.

(ETA: apart from the 2x 75p kebabs this week!)

Dinner at my desk this evening. Salt & Pepper Squid and Singapore Noodles. Local Clerkenwell chinese. Very nice.
Would you recommend them and care to say who/where they are? Clerkenwell is on my commute and I'm always interested in good takeaways. If anyone can suggest a good West Indian place in the area from there up to Dalston/Stoke Newington I'd be grateful!

Based on 5 days , that's 240/ month on dinner when looked at it that way ,does tmake you think fk,stick to the babs and put the rest in pot, holiday or something end of the year.

Mr Chans on Clerkenwell Rd. What I had was very nice. Plenty of meat and veggies in the noodles and the squids was very crispy and tender.

You should stop at Red Dog American Sandwiches on Hoxton Square just behind the restaurant. SO GOOD!

My recommendation is to massively over-order. I like to do this and have my starter around 8, main meal at around 11 and then finish off as much as I can at about 1-2am after many beers and computer games. Just make sure you tidy it up in the morning, otherwise it's always far too tempting and you regret it come the afternoon...

That's the lot, same portion size as always. It is quite a large plate... look at the fork.

Didn't actually finish it, left some of the rice as I've been munching on these bad boys all day...

Crispy squid rings, chicken chow mein and prawn toast. I really enjoyed this but I think they lost a bit of the 'crispy' being transported to me in a sealed container, steaming themselves. I'll need to order this one next time I have a sit in meal there.
