Ffuxake, thanks very much for kicking it off, that looks like proper Pistonheads hearty grub and those Rumblethumps are definitely going to be tried, can we have a full recipe for them please.

Recipe for Rumbledethumps.
600g Potatoes and 400g of turnips (not swede) chopped into chunks and bioled in salted water till tender. Remove from heat, drain and return to pan.
Shred 400g of Kale or Spring Greens. Gently fry off in 100g butter so tender and still vibrant colour.
Mash with 100g butter and stir in Kale. Season well with s&p. Press into ovenproof dish and sprinkle over mature cheddar.
Bake until cheese has melted!

I still have a jar of pate de fois gras entier from when I went over to France a few months ago, but I really can't decide what to do...

It would be very rude not to make an entry into my own theme.

The main ingredient for my dish was ordered today from my special butcher so I hope to have something interesting on a plate by early next week.

Ok here's my offering, being a bastion of hearty grub I give you...

FAGGOT SLAB WITH RUMBLEDETHUMPS, MEDALLIONS OF HAGGIS & BLACK PUDDING AND A CREAMY WHISKY SAUCE

Faggot made from chicken livers, pig's heart and pork mince with spices and herbs.

In true CDWM style I admit to not making the haggis and black pud from scratch, they were bought from a fantastic butchers in Biggar, Scotland.

The money shot! Faggot was succulent and juicy and the rumbledethumps (potato, turnip & kale with cheese crust) flavoursome. The sauce is a bonus rather than a necessity... The scotch and lemo is however a necessity after a day in the kitchen!
Magnificent!
That is all.

We'll have to sort out something for the Surstromming, I can bring the foie gras along and we can use it as an antidote smile

Is Surstromming classed as offal, or is it just awful?

I only hope this is going to turn out better than it looks - I haven't been anywhere near a lamb's heart since I dissected one at school...

That was a bit yuck, but Bob hoofed it up - lamb's his favourite.

Just so I'm clear on the rules, is this Mob's three photos then?

(also, more pics of Bob biggrin)

I haven't cooked it yet! I'm going to comp together the prep shots (which I hope is allowed) since there was quite a bit of 'trimming' required to get the hearts looking like something you might actually want to eat.
